VetAx
Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the VetAx Side Panel Chrome extension handles information. The extension is intended for authorized clinic staff using VetAx as part of a veterinary workflow.
What the extension does
VetAx Side Panel opens the production VetAx web application in Chrome’s side panel and provides an option to open or focus the full VetAx app in a browser tab.
Information stored by the extension
The extension itself stores only limited local preferences in Chrome storage, such as basic extension UI preferences needed to provide a consistent user experience.
Information processed through VetAx
Because the extension loads the VetAx application for authorized users, users may access information made available by VetAx as part of its core functionality. Depending on the clinic workflow, this may include:
- account and authentication information for authorized users,
- personally identifiable information related to clinic users or client records, and
- veterinary case or health-related information used in clinical workflow.
This information is used only to provide VetAx’s intended functionality for authorized users.
What the extension does not do
- It does not sell personal data.
- It does not use personal data for advertising.
- It does not transfer personal data to unrelated third parties for purposes unrelated to the extension’s core functionality.
- It does not download or execute remote extension code.
Permissions
The extension requests only the permissions needed for its core functionality:
- sidePanel — to open VetAx in Chrome’s side panel.
- tabs — to open or focus the full VetAx app in a browser tab when requested by the user.
- storage — to save limited local extension preferences.
- Host permissions for VetAx production domains — to load the production VetAx application.
Data retention
Extension-stored local preferences remain in Chrome storage until they are cleared by the user, removed by uninstalling the extension, or replaced by newer extension preference values.
Security
We aim to use reasonable technical and operational safeguards appropriate to the extension’s functionality. Users should use VetAx only in authorized clinic environments and follow their clinic’s own security and privacy requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
